Well, you are in right the spot my friend!

In this quick tutorial, I will show you how to create a business email address the right way. There are many tutorials and different ways that show you how to create businesses email addresses.

However, they don’t show you how to do it with Secure SSL. This will allow you to send and receive emails in a safe connection and avoid being hacked.

What is a business email address?

A professional email address has your website or company name after the “@” symbol. Let’s take as an example my website.

My business name is “VG Online Solutions”. Therefore, instead of having something like vgonlinesolutions@gmail, yahoo or hotmail.com.

I have something more professional like contact@vgonlinesolutions.com or jordan@vgonlinesolutions.com

Why should you get a custom business email?

Here are the main reasons I believe that everyone who has a business should get a professional email address:

  • Makes you look professional: For your business to be taken seriously, you need to have coherent professional branding, which includes email. Every employee should have an email address with the same domain to maintain brand consistency.
  • Improve brand awareness: Custom email addresses help you build and promote your brand (people see your website/business name in your emails, not “Gmail”). That way, every time an email is sent, your brand name is displayed to customers and increases brand awareness.
  • Build customer loyalty: A professional email address not only increases brand awareness but conveys integrity and reliability. This makes customers more likely to do business with you.
  • Keep costs low: Startup businesses with limited budgets can keep costs down and still create a professional image with a business email address, as they are often available for free with web hosting packages.

What do you need to create a free custom email address?

First, if you are looking to get a free business email, forget about it. There is no way you can get a free professional email address if you don’t have a domain name or a website.

Every serious business needs a website with a custom domain and reliable web hosting.

I recommend Bluehost as a web hosting provider. It’s the one I am currently using and where I host my business website and my professional email addresses.

Normally, a domain name costs 14.99 per year and website hosting starts from $7.99 per month. If you were to use a paid email service, then you can add another $5 per email account.

On the other hand, with Bluehost, you just have to pay $3.95 per month and you’ll get a free domain name and you’ll be able to create professional email addresses for free.

What are some business email address examples that I should use?

It depends on your business needs. For example:

  • You can create a custom-branded email for yourself or individual employees like: laura@createbusinesses.com
  • You can set up a business email account for departments like sales, support, HR, etc. support@createbusinesses.com

How can I find an available domain name?

Go to Bluehost and click on “domains” to search for available domains. You will want to choose one that uses a “.com” and matches your business name. When this is not available, try adding keywords, prefixes, or suffixes to your business name to find a suitable domain name that is available.

Can I switch my free business email account to another provider if needed?

Yes, you can switch to any other email service, website hosting, or domain registrar and take your business email address with you.

Can I create more custom email addresses for my business for free?

If you are using Bluehost, then yes you can go ahead and create more email accounts for free (You get 5 email accounts with the basic plan and unlimited accounts with plus and choice plus plans).

Can I create a free business email address without making a website?

Yes, you can. However, you’ll still need to pay for website hosting because you get the email service and domain name for free with your hosting package.

Once you have signed up, you can choose a domain and then just create your email address.

So there you have it, that’s how to get a custom domain and use it with Gmail for free to get a professional looking email while getting to use the awesomeness that is Gmail.
